The Village administration comments on the Birds Eye Foods news:

“Our main concerns and thoughts center on the region’s nearly three-hundred full time employees at Brockport’s facility and their future employment status. Like CEO Neil Harrison, we too would like this facility to continue as a successful and thriving business. There exists a need in the industry for this type of production facility in the area and in that vein it is the Village’s hope that Birds Eye Foods will be able to sell their interests in this business to another company who will maintain equal staffing levels, thus stabilizing our local workforce and keeping a vibrant facility in the Village.”

“The Village views Birds Eye Foods’ impending departure as an opening for another business’ arrival. News of this type is not cause to lament one company leaving but, rather, it presents a recruitment opportunity to show a prospective company what Brockport has to offer.”

“We can assure the residents of the Village of Brockport and those currently employed at the Brockport Birds Eye Foods facility that we as a Village government will do everything in our power to assist in the facilitation of a sale of this facility to another company and a smooth business transition when this comes to fruition.”
