Village Snow Removal Update
The Superintendent of Public Works has a snow removal update for residents:
The DPW has been working hard to keep the streets and sidewalks clear of snow. With the record amount of snowfall this winter, it has been difficult to keep up with the removal of plowed snow. On days that have not been snowing we have been removing 50-60 loads of snow per day. We cannot get through the entire village in a work day and will continue to clear out these areas.
Please keep in mind that it is the residents' and business owners' responsibility to clear the sidewalks in front of their property. The DPW, as a courtesy, clears sidewalks throughout the village as time allows. Unfortunately, our only sidewalk plow is in need of repair and will be up and running as soon as possible.
We want our residents and visitors to be able to get around safely and do our best to keep the roads travel-ready. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this difficult winter season.
Park Avenue Bridge Repair Update
According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the Park Avenue Bridge repairs are anticipated to begin at the end of February. Work is expected to take 5-6 weeks, and sidewalk repair will take place at a later date, to be determined.
