Village Offices Closed

June 30, 2017

Village Offices will be closed Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th for the federal holiday.  Offices will open July 5th.

The last day to pay taxes without penalty is Wednesday, July 5th.

Village Clock Legacy Project

The tower clock located at the Brockport United Methodist Church belongs to the village and is in need of significant repair.  The Brockport Lions Club has launched a legacy project to raise funds for the repair.  Read about it in Doug Hickerson's article published in the Westside News and watch the story on the Rochester First Channel 8 News website.

Tax Relief Task Force Releases Report

The Tax Relief Task Force, appointed after the dissolution vote failed in 2016, to determine if and where tax payer dollars could be saved.  The Task Force produced a final report at the conculsion of its meetings, available here.

Village Hall will be closed for regular business begining at 11am due to the election.  For those wishing to drop off payments, feel free to leave payments with bill stubs in in the locked drop box at driveway entrance.

Playground Safety Upgrades

The Parks Committee of the Village of Brockport is mailing a letter to residents living near playgrounds slated for safety upgrades (letter arriving next week).  The playgrounds include Barry, Corbett, Evergreen, and Havenwood.  The full letter is available to read here.

The Parks Committee is also seeking resident input on the playgrounds at these locations through a survey.  If you utilize any of these playgrounds please consider filling out a survey, available here for online submission, or here for a printable format (return to Village Hall, 49 State St., Attention Parks Committee)

Monroe Ave. Sanitary Sewer

The DPW has begun a sanitary sewer main replacement project on Monroe Street, between Utica and Main Streets.  This project will require road closure during construction hours.  Please read the full letter to residents here.

Rentals with expired Certificates of Occupancy

June 7, 2017

Be advised that a notice was mailed to owners of rental properties that have an expired Certificate of Occupancy. The property owners are required to remedy the violation within 30 calendar days or occupancy may be prohibited at the property. We urge students to ensure that their chosen rental property has a valid Certificate of Occupancy to avoid displacement in the fall.
